Naval Wargames Rules for the American Civil War and Ironclad Period, 1850 – 1880

44 pages; recommended scale 1/1200 to 1/2400; complexity: 5/10; level of detail: 5/10; avg game length 2 hours; dice required: D20, D10, D6

The American Civil War saw the beginnings of the use of armoured vessels for naval warfare. The guns are still virtually cannon, though in some cases rather LARGE cannon, making a very big bang. Ramming is a valid tactic, and can cause your opponent some headaches. These rules include some typical vessels to get you started and also provide all the necessary information for you to recreate historic vessels of your choice (or you can design your own).
