USS Porter

USS Porter
$130.00
The Porter Class DDs were originally classified as "Destroyer Leaders". They were heavier than the standard DD and were to lead the smaller DDs in torpedo attacks against enemy shipping. The Porters were also unique in that they were one of the few U.S. Navy ships that carried a Torpedo reload for her tubes.
Our first model of the Porter Class is represented by the USS
Porter as commissioned in 1936. This kit is a good example of what a U.S. Navy
ship looked Pre-WWII with no radars and lots of tophamper clutter.
The USS Porter is a multimedia kit
comprising a single resin upper hull, a single piece lower hull (full hull or
waterline model), resin stacks, turrets and platforms. Other features include a
detailed resin superstructure, smokestacks and deck. Small parts are cast in
fine pewter for extra strength. A photo-etched brass sheet completes the kit
with over 75 parts.
