USS Bass

$61.00

Although frequently referred to as a single class, the nine V boats that were authorized in 1916 were actually five different types. The first three named Barracuda, Bass and Bonita were built in 1931 and later became know as B boats.

The boats were designed with a bow overhang of 8' forward of forward perpendicular making overall length 341'6". sailors nicknamed the three boats the "Barking Fish" because of the peculiar appearance of the hull.

The Bass makes an excellent companion to the S Boat. The kit measures 12 inches long. The subs size does not mean little detail. the deck and sail are reproduced in exact scale. The hull and sail is a single piece casting. A photo-etched brass sheet makes up most of the boats details. A great kit.
